~ Valdelagrana ~
Urban beach in El Puerto de Santa María, inside the Bay of Cádiz. The sheltered bay waters offer light chop conditions, ideal for progression. A well-equipped spot with easy access and nearby facilities.
Wind conditions
Works mainly with westerly (NW-W-SW), between 12 and 25 knots. Being inside the bay, swell is minimal and wind arrives slightly softer than at open-coast spots — perfect conditions for working on technique.
Best season
Spring and summer, with afternoon thermal westerly. The bay offers rideable conditions at lower wind speeds than Tarifa, increasing the number of available days for intermediate riders.
Recommended level
Beginner and intermediate. Calm bay waters and moderate depth make this one of the safest spots in the province to start kiting.
Local regulations
Designated kite zone on the northern stretch of Valdelagrana, away from the main swimming area. The bay has boat traffic — watch out for vessels and do not drift towards the navigation channel.
How to get there
From Cádiz, before reaching El Puerto de Santa María, access the beach from the roundabout by the Decathlon. Park in the car park alongside the promenade — free, spacious, with showers and facilities in season.
