~ Los Lances - Estadio ~
Central stretch of Los Lances, in front of Tarifa's sports facilities. A calm area with clean wind and a wide beach, usually less crowded than the north end. Perfect for solo sessions or technical training.
Wind conditions
Dominated by afternoon thermal westerly, generally between 15 and 25 knots. Being in the central section of the beach, the wind arrives slightly more smoothed out than at the ends — more predictable conditions and lower gust variability.
Best season
Late spring and summer (May–September) for the thermal westerly. Easterly wind is less common in this central section but rideable when it establishes strongly.
Recommended level
Intermediate. The softer wind compared to the ends of Los Lances makes it suitable for riders consolidating intermediate skills. Not recommended for beginners without an instructor — the longshore current can make returning to shore difficult.
Local regulations
Same rules as the rest of Los Lances: designated kite zone marked, mandatory separation from the swimming area. Respect the signage around the stadium and the adjacent sports facilities.
How to get there
From Tarifa, take the Los Lances promenade south. Access to the stadium stretch is signposted via a dirt track running parallel to the beach. Free parking scattered along the promenade.
