~ Marisucia ~
Wild beach between Conil and Barbate, better known as Caños de Meca. Rarely crowded outside season, but it fills up between June and September, especially on strong levante days in Tarifa. Access is tricky due to rocks and shore break.
Wind conditions
Works with easterly (E-SE), between 18 and 30 knots. Onshore, with rocks in the exit zone if you have a problem and can't relaunch. The levante creates moderate chop offshore and good waves for surf kite.
Best season
October to May, when there are fewer people both in the water and on the beach. Bear in mind that winter swell can be significant.
Recommended level
Advanced. Entry and exit can be demanding, and high kiter density can create hazards. The spot attracts professional kiters and jumps of over 50 metres are a common sight.
Local regulations
Area falls within the La Breña and Marismas del Barbate Natural Park — driving off designated tracks and leaving waste are prohibited. Respect the dune flora and fauna.
How to get there
From Conil, turn right towards the Trafalgar lighthouse before entering Caños de Meca.
